At 2.30 p.m.on 20th December 2014 Hastings and Rother Division have invited Peter Keating a Beekeeper from Canada to speak on ‘Beekeeping in Canada’at Mountfield Village Hall Church Road, Mountfield TN32 5LG.His talk will cover his experiences in Alberta with a 1,500 two queen colony business, some pictures of queen rearing in California and many pictures of beekeeping in Quebec, Members of neighbouring associations are welcome. Looking for an Apiary Site in Ightham?
Colin Mitchem writes: "We have a 4 acre apple orchard in Ightham which is currently still farmed. Our house and a formal garden are located on one side of the orchard and within the garden we have two areas where the grass is left uncut. We are interested in having a bee hive in one of these areas but probably don’t have the time to look after the bees.
