As per usual at this time of year, I am asking for information on honey yields and prices in the South East region. As always this seasons weather was very different from last year and so it always makes an interesting comparison to see the average each year.
As always, personal information is kept secure but average honey yields and prices are passed to defra, which form part of the annual statistics for food production. The more information you, as beekeepers, can supply to defra about the size and value of the honey crop and therefore by implication the value of honeybees to the economy in terms of pollination etc, the easier it will to support claims for further investment in the bee health/research budget.
I will, as usual write up the results and send out a report later in the year. Thanking you in advance for your help.
