A Worker Bee

A worker honeybee in summer lives only 6 to 8 weeks from the time she hatches as an adult bee. Before that, it takes just 3 weeks for her to develop from an egg.

Join BIBBA the Bee Improvement and Bee Breeding Association

Get involved in bee breeding. Like all other forms of life bees can be improved by selective breeding. BIBBA encourages beekeepers to work together in breeding groups. Honey Show and Beekeeping Talks
The Bromley and Orpington Beekeepers Associations are holding their annual honey show on Saturday 17th September at Emmanuel Church, The Grove, West Wickham, BR4 9JS. The show opens to the public at 10am and admission is free. As well as candle making, a raffle, home made refreshments and honey tasting this year the beekeepers are staging two free talks for would-be beekeepers who are thinking of taking up the hobby. The talks last for an hour and take place at 11.00am and 2.30pm, all are welcome.
