Beekeeping Courses
All branches will help newcomers learn about beekeeping through talks and discussions in their winter meetings and in their spring/summer apiary meetings will demonstrate and give you hands on help. A one day course beekeeping for improvers to be held on Sunday 4th March 2012 at the Kent Science Resource Centre, Sittingbourne, ME9 8GU.
Surrey BKA Training Day - 3rd March 2012. Beekeeping Spring Management and more by Alan Byham Regional Bee Inspector and other speakers to be announced. Topics will include: Spring management, Queen rearing, Managing nucs, Swarm control.
The course is aimed at people who are interested in taking up beekeeping or want to learn more about bees. A practical and theory based session showing bees and the hive, we will cover the basics. Protective clothing will be provided 19th May 2012, 9am – 1pm.
Four sessions each of three hours theory and practical includes opening active hives, you will handle bee’s before you have to commit to keeping them! Starts August 11th, 18th, Sept 1st & 8th 2012.
Course starting on Friday 3rd Febuary 2012 in Yalding, Kent. This improvers' course is aimed at existing beekeepers, those that have kept bees for at least one full year.
