How Many Beekeepers

In the UK there are approximately 44,000 beekeepers looking after around 240,000 hives.
They produce 6000 tones of honey per year.
Each hive is worth about £400 to the agricultural economy.
We produce only 20% of the honey we consume - the rest is imported.

To anybody who was thinking about coming to the course, I'm afraid that all 24 places have now been booked for the January course. I have 4 places on the reserve list to cover any body dropping out.

I am interested in a beginners course for Bee Keeping. I do not keep Bees at present, but would like to get some knowledge before going further. Are you running any more courses this year? Thanks Malcolm
