Bee Health Day 2017

Honey Bee

Kent Beekeepers Association/Bromley Branch

In 2016 Bromley Branch organised a day-long event which concentrated on brood conditions. This year we are following up with a similar theme. However the spotlight now falls on the health of the adult honeybee. Expect plenty about varroa, nosema, and the like. If you're lucky there may even be time for a look at viruses. If the weather is kind to us, there may be opportunity for sessions around the hives, so please bring a clean bee suit, just in case.

Once again the day will be led by DAVID RUDLAND, who may be known to you as a visiting seasonal bee inspector.  He currently gives his full energies to running East Surrey Bees ( In other words David brings with him considerable experience. Last year's event was very well received, and the suggestion then was that a follow-up event would be worthwhile. So, here it is:

Timing: 10.00 am till 4.00 pm, Saturday 29th April 2017.

Venue: The Club House, Dorset Road Allotments, Dorset Road,  Beckenham,  BR3 4EA.

Cost: £10.00  (priced at a break even level).

Please bring your own lunch. Tea/coffee/biscuits provided.

Please park in the surrounding streets, as allotment plot holders will be expecting to park on site as usual.

Maximum attendance is 30, and places are bookable, paid in advance.
