I have contacted Lewisham Community education regarding the bee keeping course in Brockley and was informed that this course is now full (it has been enrolling since July). Maybe the link on your website should be deleted or a message added that the course is full.... Regards, Barbara Cyrus

I also wished to do your beekeeping course but was old, back in september, that it was full. I suspect that if you kept a record of all applications to this course you would discover that there is a high enough demand to warrant you putting on more beekeeping courses. Please consider this in future scheduling.

It is now impossible to find a course in Kent or the surrounding areas, that isn't already full. I am a member of Medway Bee Beekeepers' Association. I had tried to book on Terry Clare's course in early January, which he is running at Gillingham and started on Sat 17th January onwards. However, it was fully booked. Terry is running another course at Gillingham on Thursday mornings, which is ok if you're retired, but unfortunately I still have to work during the week. I have been keeping bees for the past two years, and kept bees for a couple of years during the early 1980's. However, I am only self taught from books and would now like to attend a training course to get some expert tuition, with a view to taking the BBKA basic exam at least. I've also tried to register on courses further afield, such as those being run at Canterbury and also as far away as Essex, by the Essex BKA at Romford and at Chelmsford, but all of these were fully booked. I'd never realised that beekeping had now become so popular !For the meantime I'll go back to reading those books and hopefully will find a course that has space available somewhere in the UK in the future !!

No point in contacting the college as nobody there knows of any courses and they do not answer emails......

I, like Helen Nicholas, am interested in beekeeping course. Unfortunately I am at work when you run the course. Is it meant for the retired or unemployed only? I would love to attend only if you could also cater for those working, who can only attend either in the evening or on weekends. Please let me know when the above happens. I most likely will be one of the first "signees". Dithema

Nice to see that Bee keeping is becoming popular especially after hearing many reports that the bee population is declining. Bees are such a vital link in our food production chain and I myself having the space to keep bees would like to take a course to be able to do this, but like many others have found one difficult to find.
