Local beekeeping courses run by members.
Bromley Beekeepers (a branch of Kent Beekeepers Association) will be running another course for those contemplating a beginning in beekeeping. Whilst it is classroom based, there will be an emphasis on the practicalities of beekeeping, and how that relates to the activities and requirements of the bees themselves. The syllabus followed has been devised by the British Beekeepers Association.
Taking the BBKA Basic Assessment of proficiency in beekeeping involves an hour of hive opening and verbal grilling.
The course will follow the British Beekeepers Association syllabus “Introduction to Beekeeping”.
This course covers all the basic information needed from keeping bees to honey extraction. It is vital to those who are concerned about the environment and the need to keep bees healthy and productive.
