11:00am Talk: Beekeeping for beginners - Kit Erhardt (1 hour)
1. Attractions of beekeeping: honey, other products, Insect biology, history of beekeeping.

7. How to learn: branch meetings, national honey show, exams, books.

Kit is the current Chairman of Orpington Beekeeper's.
2:30pm Talk: Bumblebees - The short-haired bumble reintroduction project - Rob Jones (1 hour)
Rob Jones has been a volunteer on The short-haired bumblebee project for 5 years he co-ordinates wild flower maintenance, management and sowing. He regularly joins the Swedish queen collection, completes bumblebee surveys and helps out on stalls. He has previously worked for the RSPB for 6 years and has volunteered for over 20 years.
Bromley Beekeepers and Orpington Beekeepers Honey Show 2014 The Bromley and Orpington Beekeepers are holding their annual honey show on Saturday 20th September at Emmanuel Church, The Grove, West Wickham, BR4 9JS. The show opens to the public at 10am and admission is free. As well as candle making, a raffle, home made refreshments and honey tasting this year the beekeepers are staging two free talks for would-be beekeepers and bumblebee lovers. The talks last for an hour and take place at 11.00am and 2.30pm, all are welcome.
