Guitar tutor
I am a firm believer that teaching music allows people to develop and explore aspects of themselves which in turn enriches their lives. I am committed to a personal philosophy which values individuals, collaboration, support, mutual respect and openness.

My role as a guitar teacher requires me to organise and manage myself in order to provide a high standard of teaching to students. I believe I communicate and liaise effectively both with students and if appropriate their parents/carers in order to provide a quality service. I believe that I act as a role model aiming to be approachable and sensitive to the needs of the students I teach. I greatly enjoy the role of guitar teacher and gain much personal and professional satisfaction from seeing the students develop and progress.

I believe that over the last fifteen years as a guitar teacher, I have developed significantly and I have enhanced my teaching and use of music technology skills. I have gained a greater understanding of the theories which underpin my teaching. Maintaining a professional portfolio demonstrates my own progression as a guitar teacher and allows me the opportunity to reflect on my teaching skills. I strongly believe that students continue to have guitar lessons with me, because of my passion and commitment to guitar playing and my ability to motivate and value their development.

I believe I have the knowledge, skills and commitment required to fulfil the role of guitar teacher. This is supported by my personal qualities of flexibility, sense of humour, patience and ability to learn from others, which provide a positive and informed base on which to undertake this role.
